October 15

On the eve of World Food Day (October 16) give thanks for the witness of
Anne and Willie Langdji, whose work in the rural area of Linguere,
Senegal, assists farmers and migrating herders that are historically in
conflict over land use. They work with these groups in finding ways to
grow new, income-generating crops that can feed cattle, minimize
migration, and help herders improve their livestock, which will improve
milk production. Processing and selling the milk produces income and
offers nutrition during the dry season, when hunger is a problem.
