received 11 awards during the 1996 convention of the Associated
Church Press (ACP) meeting in Phoenix, April 10-12. Honored were:

*    General Excellence in newsletters, second place.

"The Lutheran" Magazine:
Awards of Excellence:
*    News story - "Don't Forget Us" by David L. Miller, 11/95.
*    Best magazine redesign - Jack Lund, art editor.

Awards of Merit:
*    Useful article - "Addictions Defined" by David L. Miller,
     7/95.
*    Professional resource - "Living in the Center" by Marc
     Kolden, 9/95.
*    Humor/graphic - Grunewold cartoon, 11/95, Art Geisert,
     artist.

     2/95.
