LUTHER'S WORKS NOW AVAILABLE ON CD-ROM FROM FORTRESS PRESS

CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The complete works of Martin Luther are now
available on CD-ROM from Fortress Press, the academic book imprint for
Augsburg Fortress, Minneapolis, the publishing house of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Fortress Press is working in
conjunction with Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, the
publishing house of the Lutheran-Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) to make
the "Luther's Works on CD-ROM" resource available.
Luther was a 16th century German theologian who set out to
reform the Catholic Church, but his efforts resulted in the
Protestant Reformation.
"The message of Martin Luther's faith has never spoken more
clearly and more comprehensively than in the 55-volume translation
project published jointly by Fortress Press and Concordia Publishing
House in 1957," said Fortress Press in a news release. "Now, with the
entire set available on CD-ROM, his message is even more accessible."
Luther's Works on CD-ROM will provide additional resources for
the complete text of the series featuring searching, bookmarking, and
highlighting capabilities, Fortress Press said.
The first thirty volumes contain Luther's expositions of
various biblical books. Remaining volumes include his Reformation
writings and occasional pieces.
The final volume of the set contains an index of quotations,
proper names and topics, and a list of corrections and changes. The
CD-ROM also contains links to every biblical reference.
Jaroslav Pelikan, Sterling Professor of History Emeritus, Yale
University, New Haven, Conn., was editor for the CD-ROM project.
