ELCA POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Assistant for ELCA Domestic Disaster Response
REPORTS TO: Director, ELCA Domestic Disaster Response
UNIT: Church in Society
Works with the ELCA Domestic Disaster Response/Lutheran Disaster Response
director in planning, facilitating, coordinating, carrying out, and
representing the work of Domestic Disaster Response/Lutheran Disaster
Response; plans, initiates, organizes, and executes work, making
independent judgments based on DCS and LDR policies and practices with a
minimum of supervision; deals with public in providing information relating
to DDR/LDR; provides input and share in the decision-making as appropriate;
works with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod staff and other Lutheran
Disaster Response coalition staff in coordinating Lutheran Disaster
Response work in specific disaster situations and in general maintenance
and strengthening of Lutheran Disaster Response.
